Discover how to get from Delhi’s IGI Airport to Noida Airport in under 80 minutes using a brand-new “high-speed” quick train track

In about 80 minutes, travel from Delhi IGI Airport to the new Noida Airport! The Uttar Pradesh government has authorized a Rs 16,000 crore fast rail line, which would allow the future Noida Airport—also known as the Jewar airport—to have direct connection with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. High-speed rail networks are widely employed in airport-heavy cities across the globe to enable smooth passenger transfers.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is preparing a thorough project study for this rail line, which would link not just the two airports but also other areas of Delhi. According to an ET article, the comprehensive project study for the corridor should be finished by March.
The Nodal Officer of Noida International Airport Limited, Shailendra Bhatia, estimates that the project would take four years to complete once it gets underway. The greenfield Noida airport will benefit greatly from this new fast rail link, which would also allow it to draw in excess passenger traffic from the Delhi airport.
Agreements have already been struck with IndiGo and Akasa Air for flight operations at the Noida Airport, which is expected to host its first flight later this year.
It is noteworthy that Zurich Airport has been awarded the contract to run the Noida Airport, whilst the GMR company operates the Delhi Airport.
According to the plan, the Ghaziabad station—one of the Delhi Meerut Rapid Rail Transport’s interchange stations—will act as the starting point for the Noida airport connection. Additionally, at Sarai Kale Khan, the Delhi-Meerut Rail’s starting station, passengers will be able to connect to the currently under construction Delhi-Alwar Rapid Rail. The Indira Gandhi International Airport and Aerocity will serve as stations for the Delhi-Alwar train, which is anticipated to be finished by the middle of 2025.
According to Shailendra Bhatia, expanding the airport’s catchment area depends on this high-speed link between the two airports and the Delhi region. The project has Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s approval. It is anticipated that the whole trip will take around 80 minutes.
Before the Noida quick train, alternative possibilities including an express metro that connected the two airports directly were taken into consideration, but their viability was determined by the project’s cost.
In order to link the airport with Delhi and Gurgaon, the administrators of the Noida airport are also creating additional public transit options, like as high-speed bus lanes. Shailendra Bhatia went on to say that plans are underway to provide the airport with multimodal transit links.
Such link, according to Noida airport officials, would increase the airport’s appeal to airlines looking to start operations. According to an airport official, connectivity would undoubtedly be taken into consideration when approaching both local and foreign airlines. According to the source, government programs such as this are quite beneficial.
By year’s end, the airport should be operating, according to CEO Christoph Schnellmann. He said that work is now being done on paving and asphalting the runway, as well as installing the baggage system. In order to expand retail and food and beverage experiences at the airport, agreements are being made, and construction operations at the airport are expected to pick up speed in the next months.
