Dismantled gender test racket, two apprehended

Two people, including a woman, were taken into custody after a combined Sonepat and Baghpat Health Department team busted a gender determination scheme.

Following a raid at a boutique in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, the suspects were taken into custody.

Following learning about the gender determination test, Dr. Jaikishor, a civil surgeon, claimed a team headed by Dr. Sumit Kaushik, a PNDT nodal official, was formed to raid the Baghpat boutique.

He said that in order to determine a patient’s gender, Dr. Kaushik dispatched a phony patient, who got in touch with Munesh. Following that, the agreement was finalized for Rs 15,000, and the money was sent.

He said that Munesh led her to Trends store in Baghu village in Baghpat, where Farman, the proprietor, used a portable equipment to do an ultrasound test.

Subsequently, Munesh and Farman were taken into custody at the boutique by a combined team from the Sonepat and Baghpat Health Departments. Additionally, the team was able to retrieve Rs 15,000.

The accused were turned over to the authorities, and the shop was shut.
