“Do they have the right to refuse?” Amit Shah asks of Mamata, Stalin, and Vijayan who are against the execution of the CAA

Amit Shah, the union home minister, has questioned a few chief ministers of states that are not governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and who have been opposing and stating that they would not let the Citizenship Amendment Act to be implemented in their state. The Home Minister said that the CAA does not contravene any constitutional provisions and that only the federal government has the authority to pass and carry out legislation pertaining to citizenship.

Amit Shah said in an interview with ANI that the Modi administration introduced the CAA and that “it is impossible to repeal.” He said that “politics of appeasement” were being exploited by the opposition leaders.

“Do you have the authority to reject its application? They are also aware that they lack some rights. According to our Constitution, only Parliament has the authority to enact legislation pertaining to citizenship. The law and how it is applied are central subjects, not the province of the state, according to Amit Shah.

After the Lok Sabha election, he said, all political parties will collaborate and come on board.

“The Parliament is granted complete authority to enact laws pertaining to citizenship under Article 11 of our Constitution. After the elections, I believe everyone will work together. For political reasons, they are disseminating false facts,” he said.

Earlier this week, the Center sent out notice of the CAA implementation guidelines. In December 2019, the first year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second consecutive term in office, the bill was approved by Parliament.

Chief Ministers of Kerala, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, and Pinarayi Vijayan, criticized the legislation and said they would not carry it out in their states upon the announcement by the Center of guidelines for the implementation of the CAA. The Congress has criticized the Center for implementing the CAA too soon, claiming that notice of the regulations was given in advance of this year’s Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled for April and May.

When questioned about claims made by a Congressman that the CAA would be abolished if the INDIA coalition wins in 2024, Amit Shah pointed out that the opposition party is equally aware that they will lose.

“The BJP administration, headed by Prime Minister Modi, has introduced CAA. The CAA cannot be repealed. He said, “It is a totally constitutional statute.

In response to a question on statements made by PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti about the CAA, he said that the law has not been stopped by the Supreme Court. He also took aim at her about Article 370, claiming that while it was contested in court decades ago, it was still in use till the government headed by the BJP removed it.

Rahul Gandhi must to clarify the Congress’ position on CAA in public, says Amit Shah
Amit Shah also issued a challenge to Uddhav Thackeray, the former chief minister of Maharashtra, asking him to clarify his stance on the CAA’s implementation.

“I would want Uddhav Thackeray to clarify whether or not CAA implementation is necessary. He is engaging in appeasement politics and seeking votes from minorities,” he added.

“Lies are being used in politics by all opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, and Asaduddin Owaisi. The matter of time is irrelevant. The BJP promised to implement the CAA and provide citizenship to refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan in its 2019 platform. It was approved by both Houses in 2019 but was postponed because to COVID…The opposition seeks to increase the size of their support base and engage in appeasement politics. They have been made public, and the populace of the nation is aware that the CAA is the national legislation. “I have stated forty-one times that it will be put into effect prior to the elections,” he continued.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, has come under fire from Amit Shah for her adamant resistance to the CAA, claiming that the leader of the Trinamool Congress lacks an understanding of the distinction between infiltrators and refugees.

“I want to appeal to Mamata Banerjee,” Amit Shah said. There are several political forums. Please don’t reject Bangladeshi-born Bengali Hindus. You are a native Bengali. She has my open challenge to identify the section of this statute that deprives someone of their citizenship. To increase her support base, she is just sowing fear and dividing Muslims and Hindus.”

“On a crucial national security matter, you are engaging in political activity. Nobody will support you. “Mamata is unable to distinguish between infiltrators and refugees,” he said.

The chief minister of West Bengal had said that she would not let the Citizenship and Immigration Act (CAA), which she called “a gimmick,” to take effect in her state. She also urged people not to seek for citizenship, claiming that doing so would make them “illegal migrants” and rob them of their rights.

In response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s criticism of the CAA, Amit Shah asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo’s outburst was caused by his party’s alleged exposure in corruption cases and stated that he needs to discuss Bangladeshi infiltrators if he is concerned about national security.

This Thursday, Arvind Kejriwal restated his previous comments on the CAA, saying that there would be greater migration today than there was after independence. He also said that there would be a breakdown in law and order, which will increase thievery, robberies, and rapes.

“The Delhi Chief Minister has lost his temper after his party’s alleged corruption got exposed,” Amit Shah said. The fact that all of these individuals have already sought safety in our nation escapes him (Kerjiwal). They call India home. Individuals who entered our nation by 2014 will be granted citizenship.”

And why doesn’t he discuss Bangladeshi infiltrators if he is concerned? Why doesn’t he condemn the Rohingyas with protests? It’s a result of their vote-bank politics. He is engaging in vote-bank politics because he anticipates a very difficult time during the Delhi elections. Are Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas grabbing our jobs instead? The Union Minister said, “He is just speaking out against Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis who are minority groups.

“He’s going to have a tough time in the Delhi elections. Are Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas grabbing our jobs instead? Shah said, “He is just speaking out against Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis who are minority groups.

Amit Shah went on to say that Arvind Kejriwal and other politicians have no empathy for those who fled persecution in their own countries and came to our country.

“They no longer remember the history of the Partition. These refugees fled their millions-of-dollar properties and chose to live here. Why won’t we pay attention to their issues? Here, they don’t get education or work. Why are we unwilling to feel sorry for them? They did not decide to divide the nation. The Congress made that decision and assured them of their citizenship. He responded, “They are now breaking their pledges.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, said that 1,551 Bangladeshi Hindus served Give up on India and rejoice at the CAA’s implementation.
Reiterating that there is no clause in the CAA that would deprive someone of their citizenship, the Home Minister added that there is no need for any group or individual to be afraid. “CAA is only to give rights to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Christians and Parsi refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan…”

In response to a question, he said that those who get Indian citizenship via the CAA would be listed with all other Indian citizens. “They will be entitled to the same rights as you and I. They are able to run for office and become ministers, MPs, MLAs, and CMs.”

We extend our warmest welcome to everyone who arrived in India between August 15, 1947, and December 31, 2014. To the best of my knowledge, 85% of individuals possess relevant documentation. For those without the documentation, we will come up with a workaround. According to the Constitution, even Muslims are eligible to petition for citizenship in India,” he said. He made reference to previous Congress administrations and their track record of breaking pledges.

“Should we not take action against terrorism when the opposition has no other task to do and has even said that airstrikes and surgical strikes would be politically beneficial? They said that it was to our political advantage that Article 370 was repealed. Since 1950, we have insisted on getting rid of Article 370. Their past demonstrates that they seldom follow through on their promises, but PM Modi’s record indicates that whatever the BJP and Narendra Modi say is unchangeable. “Every assurance provided by Prime Minister Modi will be kept,” he said.

He added that during the partition, leaders of the Congress had said that anyone who had been persecuted might come.

Women from the minority group were tortured and fled to India when the nation was divided along religious lines, and those minorities who were persecuted in those countries were being converted. They arrived to our haven; don’t they deserve to become citizens of our country?”

“But due to appeasement politics, Congress never fulfilled its promise…I believe it is our moral and constitutional responsibility to give refuge to those who are persecuted on the basis of religion,” he said.

Those who meet the requirements of CAA-2019 are entitled to apply for Indian citizenship under the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024. Applications must be filed entirely online using a website that the government has set up.

On Monday, the Center announced the guidelines for putting the Citizenship Amendment Act into effect.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, aims to provide Indian citizenship to refugees who sought safety in India before to December 31, 2014, as a result of religious persecution of six minority populations in three neighboring countries: Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

The CAA offers refugees “who have suffered for decades” a decent existence by removing legal obstacles to citizenship and rehabilitation.
