Drive in Rohtak for property self-certification

The Municipal Corporation of Rohtak has initiated a door-to-door campaign aimed at enabling the inhabitants to self-certify their homes.

The teams will also assist the residents in having their property IDs fixed of any mistakes.

Ankita Verma, the joint municipal commissioner for Rohtak, said, “We have started a door-to-door campaign to create awareness and help the residents after having organized camps in different wards for the self-certification of properties.”

The officer said that only the occupants will have access to their property IDs after their self-certification of their belongings.

“Therefore, by completing the self-certification, the residents can secure their property details,” she said.

The campaign’s initial phase, according to the Joint Commissioner, is covering the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) sectors; the ancient town regions will be covered later.

She said, “The exercise’s main goal is to inform the residents about the critical need of self-certification and provide them with the tools they need to complete it.

Given that many residents chose not to attend the camps, it may be appropriate to note here that the MC staff was unable to complete the self-certification procedure.

Furthermore, out of concern that they would be conned, a large number of citizens declined to provide the municipal body officials who called them the one-time password (OTP) that they had received on their cell phone.

Inadequate work by a private business tasked with doing a property survey resulted in inaccurate information being put on homeowners’ property IDs. Thousands of locals have been going to the corporate office to get their property ID errors fixed.

The payment was made despite the local MC’s determination to cease paying the mentioned firm and to levy a penalty on it.

“We anticipate that the continuous campaign will assist the locals in correcting their errors and obtaining self-certification for their property, guaranteeing the avoidance of future harassment and fraud,” said OP Arora.
