Due to heavy rain, four flights from Mangaluru to Dubai were canceled, affecting several others

Four flights from Mangaluru International Airport to Dubai and vice versa were canceled on Wednesday due to the severe weather and heavy rains that have plagued Dubai and the surrounding middle-eastern nations over the last 48 hours.

According to authorities, a flight from here to Jeddah was delayed today, while another flight from Tiruchirapalli to Mangaluru was also canceled.

An airport officer said that Air India Express was the airline operating the canceled flights. According to the official, there has been a cancellation of flight numbers 814, 813, 384, and 383 from Dubai to Mangaluru, as well as flight number 384 from Mangaluru to Dubai.

In a similar vein, this evening’s Air India Express flight 797 from Mangaluru to Jeddah is still running late.

However, the Air India Express flight 814 scheduled to depart from Dubai and arrive in Mangaluru on Thursday has also been canceled. Similar to this, there would be delays on Air India Express flights 796 from Jeddah to Mangaluru and 1498 from Mangaluru to Tiruchirappalli on Thursday.

Heavy water logging has been occurring in numerous areas of Dubai since midnight on April 15, interrupting both daily activity and aviation traffic. Reports state that on Tuesday, a record 100 mm of rain fell in only 12 hours in Dubai.
