Due to the transport strike, Bengaluru’s schools will likely be closed tomorrow

Due to a lack of agreement between the Karnataka government and the Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Association, a private transport strike in Bengaluru on Monday, September 11, is becoming more possible. The everyday journeys of many people to work, the airport, and their children’s schools will probably be hampered by this. Several private transportation services, including auto-rickshaws, taxis, and school buses, are likely to be impacted by the forthcoming strike on Monday in Bengaluru.

The majority of schools have not yet announced a vacation in reaction to the strike, while a handful have. As a result of the strike and the postponement of examinations, numerous schools in the city reportedly opted to provide students a day off on September 11. There isn’t an official confirmation of this information, however. Therefore, it is strongly encouraged that parents and students get in touch with their specific schools to learn more about closures and test postponements.

Parents were informed via email that Monday’s classes would be cancelled due to the private transport groups’ strike decision, according to a MoneyControl report.

In a statement to MoneyControl, the Associated Managements of English Medium Schools expressed their moral support for the cause and said that schools that heavily depend on private school buses and vans had declared a vacation. Due to congested highways leading to schools, using personal automobiles is usually impracticable; as a result, it has been observed that many students depend on private van services to get to and from school.

The Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Association is insistent that the strike go on as long as they stay off the roads. A list of 28 demands, including the outlawing of private buses and bike taxis, has been provided by the 32 private transport unions which organized this strike. Additionally, they are pressing for the expansion of the Shakti program, which offers free bus rides to women on RTC buses, to private buses.

In order to assemble in Freedom Park on Monday afternoon, the Federation has planned a number of private fare vehicle marches from different city entrance and exit locations. It is doubtful that the municipal traffic police would let them to do so since many protests would result in massive traffic disruptions across the whole city.
