Ex-cricker Azharuddin said of the Telangana Assembly Election, “Jubilee Hills People With Me”

The Congress party’s candidate from the city’s Jubilee Hills Assembly sector, former cricket player Mohammad Azharuddin, expressed confidence that the people in the constituency support him and said on Wednesday that he is not concerned about AIMIM fielding a candidate there.Add New Post

Political observers speculate that the AIMIM candidate may divide the constituency’s share of the Congress vote.

It will be closely observed since Mohammad Rashed Farazuddin from Jubilee Hills is running for office for the first time on behalf of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), headed by Asaduddin Owaisi and billed as a “friendly party” of the governing BRS.

M Gopinath, a lawmaker currently serving, is the BRS contender for the position.

“We’re up against the election we ran. Our main concern is not so much about who is doing what. I am an opponent of my own election. I know that the people of Jubilee Hills are fully behind me, and that is vital to me. Insha Allah, they’re all after me,” Azharuddin said to PTI.

He said that his campaign for the Assembly election on November 30 is proceeding well and is getting positive feedback from the public.

In response to a question, he said that apart from the presence of active anti-social groups, there has been no progress in the constituency during the last 10 years.

He predicted that the Congress will emerge victorious in the next elections and take power in Telangana.

Political pundit Telankapalli Ravi speculates that the MIM candidate would divide the Congress votes and help BRS in the seat that it occupies.

Additionally, he said that because of certain accusations, there is no assurance that Azharuddin would win big in the elections.

Even in that case, Ravi remarked, there may not be an easy ride for Azharuddin and that there would be a fierce competition.

The former captain of India launched his election campaign with supporters at his side and is doing door-to-door canvassing in addition to padayatras.

Numerous locations are eager for people to snap selfies with him. He converses with the proprietors of roadside stores as well.

After Azharuddin joined the Congress party, he was elected in 2009 from the UP constituency of Moradabad in the Lok Sabha.

In 2018, he was elected as one of the Telangana Congress’s Working Presidents.
