Ex-deputy mayor of Karnal Manoj Wadhwa leaves the BJP

Manoj Wadhwa, a BJP politician and former deputy mayor, resigned from the party’s main membership on Wednesday. He submitted his resignation to Yogendra Rana, the district president, and party state president Nayab Singh Saini.

Although Wadhwa has not yet revealed his plans, those close to him indicate that he is most likely to join the Congress in order to run against the BJP’s candidate, CM Saini, in the Karnal Assembly by-election.

Wadhwa said that he resigned for private reasons. “I will decide my future and make it known soon after I meet with my supporters and well-wishers,” he said. He did not, however, say whether he intended to run in the next Lok Sabha or Assembly elections.

In 2013, Wadhwa ran on an INLD ticket and won the councilor election. He was later chosen to serve as deputy mayor. He continued to actively bring up public issues at the Karnal Municipal Corporation house.

In 2014, Wadhwa ran for assembly in opposition to Manohar Lal Khattar, the then-chief minister, and finished third.

In the last mayor’s race, his spouse ran against BJP candidate Renu Bala Gupta and was unsuccessful in a tight race. Manoj later became a member of the BJP.

For the previous several days, there have been rumors that he was leaving the party, but he has now dispelled all of them. The city’s powerful Punjabi face, Wadhwa, has the residents waiting for his next move.

Sources claim that if Wadhwa runs in the Karnal by-election, the election struggle would be intriguing. Everyone is now focused on his next move.
