Famous rheumatologist in Tamil Nadu passes away when a vehicle crashes with a truck
On Saturday, a vehicle accident on the outskirts of Vellore, close to Alamelumangapuram, claimed the life of a sixty-year-old doctor. Dr. Debashish Danda, who passed away, was the chairman of the rheumatology department of CMC Vellore and a professor.
He was traveling when, according to sources, his vehicle and a truck collided about 2:30 pm.
Dr. Danda received his MBBS at JIPMER Puducherry, his MD in internal medicine from GSVM Medical College in Kanpur, and his postdoctoral degree in clinical immunology from SGPGIMS in Lucknow, according a news release from CMC. He was the principal editor of the International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases and founded the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at CMC.
