Four kidnappers enter a police dragnet

22 cell phones were found in the hands of four snatchers, who have been taken into custody by the police.

Giving specifics, police officers said that they received a tip that two repeat criminals, Jatin, also known as Jattu, and Kamaljit Singh, also known as Kamal, were engaged in motorbike and cell phone theft, with many charges against them.

The pair was about to sell a stolen motorbike at Dhilwan Chowk when they set up a trap there. They were taken into custody by the police, who also found a motorcycle they were riding without a license plate.

Twelve cell phones, two smart watches, and one more motorbike were found among them after additional inquiries.

Authorities added that a complaint had been filed at the Rama Mandi police station against the accused under Sections 379 and 34 of the IPC.

They said that on April 4, a man named Gurdev Singh filed a complaint alleging that two people—a lady among them—snatched his cell phone under the guise of requesting its whereabouts. Subsequently, the Division No. 2 police station lodged a case under Sections 379B and 34 of the IPC.

An investigation revealed that a motorbike with registration number PB08-BS-1949 was used by the suspects to carry out the crime.

After a thorough investigation, Nisha, also known as Shalu, and Sagar, also known as Sam, were taken into custody. Ten stolen cell phones were found in the police’s hands, according to authorities.

They indicated that Sagar and Nisha each had a case against them already pending. Inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
