“Ganja patti” confiscated for Rs 40 lakh; two people detained

Today, the police made two arrests and took from them 148 kg of “ganja patti,” valued at Rs 40 lakh. According to a senior police officer, the drugs were seized this morning when a police crew stopped a vehicle near Dadota village for inspection.

According to Chandhut SHO Dalbir Singh, a police squad was sent to the location after receiving information that a vehicle carrying narcotics was approaching the city. He continued by saying that the crew discovered the narcotics placed in the car with the license plate UP 16FT 4245. The vehicle originated in Noida.

He continued by saying that despite the two suspects’ attempts to escape, the police were able to apprehend the driver—a Secunderabad resident—and the second suspect, a Pingawa village resident in Nuh.

Palwal DSP Dinesh Yadav said that six bags carrying ganja were found by the police. The DSP said that further investigation is ongoing and that a case under the NDPS Act has been filed against the suspects.
