Gujarati PM Modi claims that appeasement politics are impeding India’s development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned against “a very large political class” that can compromise with national unity for their own selfish ends and cannot see a way to do positive politics. He said on Tuesday that appeasement politics is the biggest roadblock to the nation’s development.

India’s internal security has faced several obstacles over the last nine years, but thanks to the security forces’ diligent efforts, the nation’s adversaries are not as successful as they formerly were, according to Modi.

On this National Unity Day, which commemorates Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, he had paid floral homage to the man before speaking to a crowd at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia in the Narmada region of Gujarat.

The next twenty-five years of this century are crucial for India, according to Modi, who also said that “we have to make our country prosperous and developed” and acknowledged Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as an inspiration in achieving this aim.

“The politics of appeasement provide the greatest obstacle to our progress. Over the last several decades, India has seen firsthand how appeasers fail to recognize the horrors and brutality of terrorism. The appeasers have no qualms about siding with the adversaries of mankind,” he said.

“They (the appeasers) don’t look into terrorist activity and don’t deal strictly with anti-national elements. The danger of the appeasement mentality is so great that it even reaches the court to defend terrorists. No community can profit from this kind of thinking. The nation can never gain from this,” he said.

The PM said that people need to be wary of thinking like this, which jeopardizes national unity at all times and in all places.

According to Modi, there is a “very large political class” in the nation that does not believe that constructive politics is possible.

Sadly, the political elite is using strategies that are detrimental to the nation and its citizens. Even if it causes the nation to fall apart, this political class’s self-interest comes first,” he said.

“By hurting the unity of the country,” the prime minister said, this political elite is attempting to further its ends.

“The nation cannot accomplish its development objectives unless it maintains vigilance over these issues. The nation’s unity must be maintained at all times, and efforts in this regard should not be neglected. In order to realize the motto of togetherness, we must constantly live it and make contributions, according to Modi.

He remarked that the greatest approach to provide a brighter future for the next generation is for individuals to work hard in whatever sector they choose. “And this is what Sardar Saheb expects from all of us,” he said.

India’s internal security has faced several obstacles over the last nine years, but thanks to the security forces’ diligent efforts, the nation’s adversaries are not as successful as they formerly were, according to Modi.

According to him, people still remember the times they felt uneasy going into busy marketplaces, public spaces, and areas where business was conducted.

“There were plots to attack them in order to stop the nation’s progress. He stated, “People should not allow the country to slip to that period. They have seen the destruction caused by bomb blasts and also the sluggishness of the then government in the name of investigation.”

According to PM Modi, the nation’s citizens must be aware of, comprehend, and wary of those who would undermine the nation’s unity.

“During the 25 years that preceded the nation’s freedom in the previous century, every Indian tried their hardest to win their independence. We now have the potential to seize a comparable ‘Amrit Kaal’ of the next twenty-five years for a flourishing India. We must use Sardar Patel’s motivation to achieve every objective,” he said.

He also mentioned the repeal of Article 370, which gave the former state of Jammu and Kashmir unique status.

“Who would have guessed that Article 370 would be removed from Kashmir? However, the barrier erected by Article 370 between the nation and Kashmir has already collapsed. From wherever he is now, Sardar Saheb will be happy and blessing us.”

“Today, our brothers and sisters have come out of the shadow of terrorism to breathe in one air and are moving forward step by step in the country’s development,” he said.

The prime minister said that everyone is observing India’s accomplishments today.

“The capabilities of India at the G20 has amazed the globe. We are honored to be leading the biggest democracy in the world to new heights. We are happy that, in spite of several international crises, our borders remain secure and that, in the next years, we will ascend to the position of third economic power,” he said.

According to Modi, India made a commitment in the “Amrit Kaal” to advance by eschewing the idea of slavery.

In some nations, unemployment is at an all-time high and inflation is at its worst level in thirty to forty years as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic and global turmoil. According to the PM, India’s flag is still flying high under these conditions.

“By conquering one obstacle after another, we are making steady progress. We have broken records and established new benchmarks. Every aspect of life in the nation has been impacted by the policies and choices made during the last nine years, he said.

Over 13.5 crore individuals have emerged from poverty. “India is confident that we can remove poverty from the country and will continuously work forward in this direction,” he said.

“Thus, this is a crucial time for every Indian individual. Nothing that might jeopardize the nation’s stability should be done. We will stray from our objective if we don’t follow our steps.

“It should never be in vain that 140 crore Indians have toiled so diligently to put their nation on the road of growth. We need to remain current with our resolutions and keep an eye on the future,” he said.

According to Modi, the Sardar Sarovar Dam project was finally finished in the past few years as a result of everyone’s hard work after being delayed for 56 years.

The Statue of Unity is situated in Ekta Nagar, which is now recognized as a “global green city,” he added.

In the last six months, more than 1.5 lakh trees have been planted. According to him, the area has seen an increase in attractions, and this has benefited the inhabitants.

According to Modi, the number of visitors to Ekta Nagar has increased over the last five years to over 1.5 crore.

The Prime Minister launched and laid the cornerstone for many development projects totaling Rs 160 crore at Ekta Nagar.

Some of the projects are a heritage train that will connect Ekta Nagar and Ahmedabad; a live broadcast of the Narmada aarti; a dragon fruit park called Kamalam; a walkway that will run through the Statue of Unity; a city gas distribution network at Ekta Nagar; and ‘Sahkar Bhawan’ of the Gujarat State Cooperative Bank.

In Ekta Nagar, the PM also dedicated a sub-district hospital with a trauma center and solar panels.
