History-Sheeter was detained in Gurugram after threatening a woman with extortion using a private photo

An officer said on Wednesday that the Gurugram Police had detained a 34-year-old history student from Uttar Pradesh for reportedly threatening to publish a lady’s personal images, which prompted the victim to try suicide.

A resident of Peepal Khera village in Muzaffarnagar named Parul Kumar was detained there on Monday night.

According to police, he is suspected of extorting Rs 5 lakh from a lady who tried suicide but lived.

According to reports, Kumar has been arrested for attempted murder, abduction, and extortion and is a defendant in ten cases in his native state.

At the time of the arrest, one firearm, one knife, and two ammunition were found in his possession.

Police were notified of a woman’s attempted suicide on September 15 after she had been transported to the hospital.

On September 22, the woman’s husband filed a complaint against a resident of the Khatauli neighborhood near his wife’s maternal home in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the guy often harasses his wife at his Shyam Kunj home.

He said the guy would arrive armed with threats to murder his children, his whole family, and the public if money were not supplied.

“My wife handed him the cash, but he insisted on having more and continued to harass my wife. My wife attempted suicide as a result of being harassed by this, the husband said in his complaint, according to police.

A squad from the Maruti Kunj police chowki arrested Kumar after a FIR was filed in connection with the incident at the Bhondsi Police Station and an inquiry was launched.

“The accused threatened to go viral with the victim’s picture in order to speak to her. By threatening to make the picture popular or perhaps murder her children or family, he had threatened to extract money from the victim and was now demanding more.

We are interviewing the suspect since he has a criminal history in Uttar Pradesh, according to Badshahpur ACP Priyanshu Dewan.
