House surgeon stipends are clarified by the AYUSH department

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Director of AYUSH clarified a news article that appeared in The Hans India on April 10, 2024, titled “Stipends: It’s a raw deal for TS AYUSH house surgeons.”

In a reply on Tuesday, director M. Prashanti IAS, deputy director (Admn), department of AYUSH, TS, said that all house surgeons and postgraduate students in the AYUSH department received stipend increases of 30% by government order, as per G.O.Ms.No. 177, HM&FW department, dated October 6, 2023.

“The Hon’ble Supreme Court admitted the review petition filed by the Department of AYUSH with R.P.(C) No. 167/2024 in Special Leave Petition No. 16175/2023, requesting that the Hon’ble Apex Court review the order dated 24-7-2023 passed in SLP No. 16175/2023 and issue notices to the respondents therein on 19-3-2024, directing that no contempt proceedings be initiated or pursued in the matter,” the spokesperson said.

Prashanti said, “The matter is currently sub-judice before the Supreme Court of India due to the facts and circumstances that have been presented in the R.P. (C) No.157/2024 in SLP No.16175/2023.”
