How Many Mangoes Did Kejriwal, a Diabetic, Eat? Delhi CM vs. Tihar Jail in Court

Three mangoes for every 48 meals. I once had Aloo Puri, and that was the Prashad of Navratra,” Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. Kejriwal’s dispute arose at the hearing for his petition requesting that he be given insulin while incarcerated in Tihar.

This came about as a result of a suit filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday in Rouse Avenue Court requesting that insulin be given to him while he is being held in Tihar prison. Furthermore, Kejriwal has requested authorization to see his physician every day for fifteen minutes via video conference.

Kejriwal’s severe diabetes and swinging blood sugar levels prompted his doctor to grant him permission to see him every day.

Kejriwal’s court argument was held the day after the Enforcement Directorate charged the Chief Minister of Delhi, who has type 2 diabetes, with consuming sugar-rich foods like mangoes and sweets on purpose every day in order to get medical bail.

“Even though he has type II diabetes and is aware that eating certain foods raises blood sugar levels, Arvind Kejriwal is purposefully consuming things like sugar-filled tea, bananas, sweets, puri, aloo sabji, etc. on a regular basis,” the ED’s attorney stated on Thursday.

AUTHORITIES: TIHAR vs. KEJRIWAL
Authorities at Tihar Jail told the court that a report on the Delhi Chief Minister’s nutrition and overall health will be sent to them soon in response to his appeal.

The attorney for Tihar Jail also told the court that Kejriwal had been off insulin for years, according to the prescription. The attorney said, “He himself said that when he met the doctor there.”

In response to the arguments, the court gave Tihar Jail till Saturday, April 20, to deliver their answer. The court has notified ED and Tihar Jail that the ruling has been deferred until Monday.
