Hyderabad: A fraudster is imprisoned for deceiving prospective police officers

On Sunday, the Masab Tank police and the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, arrested a phony police officer who was defrauding the people by posing as a job offer from the police department. From his possession, the police confiscated a two-wheeler, a cell phone, and the uniform of a sub-inspector.

Kadavath Somla Naik (44), a resident of Uday Nagar Colony, Road No. 11 in Banjara Hills, is the accused. He drives a vehicle. The accused had previously been selected as a Soldier GD in the Army and had trained at the Artillery Center, according to the authorities. But he disappeared after training for six months. He then took part in the 2004 Assam Rifles recruitment and was chosen as a Soldier GD. He had a hydrocele illness throughout his training, which made it impossible for him to continue and finally resulted in his program withdrawal. According to the police, he did not pass the test despite having visited police recruiting events throughout the undivided AP State. Then he began working as a vehicle driver in Hyderabad to support himself.

He started dressing in a police uniform and acting like a police officer in 2012, motivated by a deep love for uniformed forces. People in his area gradually came to believe he was a police officer since he continued to show up at occasions dressed as a sub-inspector or constable. Later on, he started tricking job searchers. He purposefully misled Gowri Shanker of Banjara Hills in order to steal Rs 2 lakh from him. So far, he has used similar dishonest methods to get Rs 11 lakh from a number of victims. The accused was turned over to Masab Tank police for an inquiry, along with the confiscated items.
