If Modi wins again, there won’t be any elections or democracy: Mamata during the Assam poll rally

On Wednesday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that “if Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to power” for a third term, there would be “no democracy and elections.”

Speaking at an election rally here in favor of four Assamese TMC candidates, Mamata said that the BJP had turned the whole nation into a “detention camp” and that the NRC and CAA will be eliminated should the opposition coalition INDIA win central administration.

“The BJP turned the whole nation into a prison camp… In all my life, I have never seen an election this perilous,” Banerjee said.

She said that the TMC embraces all faiths and opposes religious division in society.

“The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Uniform Civil Code, and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not exist if the INDIA group prevails. “All laws that discriminate will be repealed,” Banerjee said at the event.

She said that her party will run for all 126 assembly seats in the 2026 state elections and urged voters to support all four Trinamool Congress candidates in Assam in the Lok Sabha elections.

“This is just a teaser; the full version is yet to come. I’ll be back,” Banerjee continued.
