Illegal colonies: 12 FIRs were registered against builders by GLADA

Yesterday, the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) filed up to twelve First Information Reports (FIRs) against colonizers who had established unauthorized colonies inside the industrial region. Section 36 of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995, was used to record the cases.

Two such First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed by the Dehlon police against the proprietor of Sharav Infrastructure Private Limited for constructing the illegal colony Maharaj Aggarsen Enclave in Khanpur village and selling plots to purchasers. Sanjiv Kumar, who established the illegal settlement of Ridhi Enclave in Jassar village, is the subject of another FIR.

The Sadar police discovered two unlawful colonies in Mehmudpura and Sangowal, respectively, and filed two First Information Reports (FIRs) against two unnamed colonizers.

When RC Colonizer of Phase 2 Urban Estate built a residential colony at International Heights, the Dugri police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against them.

The unlawful colonies in Jaspal Bangar and Sahnewal were built by two unnamed colonizers, for which the Sahnewal police filed two First Information Reports (FIRs).

Three complaints were filed by the Jamalpur police against colonizers for establishing unauthorized colonies in Bhamian Kalan. Two Moti Nagar colonists, Raj Kumar and Ravinder Singh, were charged in the first instance with creating an unauthorized residential colony inside the industrial zone. The Jamalpur police have also filed a complaint against Samrala Road residents Varinder Kumar, Anmol Sharma, and Ravinder Singh for constructing Aone City, an illegal colony, in the Industrial Area in violation of the law. The Jamalpur police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Varinder Kumar of Sector 32, Samrala Road, for constructing an unauthorized colony inside the industrial area.

In the meantime, the Koom Kalan police also filed a complaint against Jamalpur colonist Inderpreet Singh for creating Guru Nanak Nagar, an unlawful colony, as the developer had neglected to get a GLADA permission. Additionally, the Meharban police filed a complaint against Nachatar Singh of Atal Nagar for constructing Khalsa Enclave, a colony, near the hamlet of Gonsgarh.
