TDP and YSRC fully engage in local card games in Ongole

To get the upper hand in the district’s Assembly seats, the YSRC and the TDP-JSP-BJP troika are honing their tactics.

Running a campaign against the other party’s out-of-area candidates is the newest tool in their arsenal.

By bringing up the topic of “non-locals,” Darsi YSRC candidate and former MLA Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy, Giddalur TDP candidate Muttumula Ashok Reddy, and Kondepi current MLA and TDP candidate DSBV Swamy are intensifying the campaign.

The TDP is running Dr. Gottipati Lakshmi, a physician in practice from Narasaraopet in the Palnadu district, in the Darsi Assembly seat. Her husband and his parents are from Narasaraopet, whereas her parents are from Marturu, therefore she is new to the section.

Dr. Lakshmi’s paternal uncle, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, is the current MLA from Addanki, while her father, Gottipati Narasaiah, and grandfather, Gottipati Hanumantha Rao, were elected as MLAs. Dr. Lakshmi is certain that the TDP, BJP, and JSP cadres would assist her in winning the election.

Dr. Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy is descended from the political Buchepalli family, who were elected to the Assembly previously by their father, Buchepalli Subba Reddy, from the Darsi seat.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Buchepalli Venkayamma, his mother, is in attendance. During the Thirteenth Assembly, Dr. Siva Prasad Reddy represented Darsi as an MLA. Supporters of Buchepalli are now promoting the idea of “Local Leadership.” They are trying to get people to vote for the local leader who will be there for them 24/7.

However, the governing YSRC candidate Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy, a non-local and immigrant, is receiving harsh criticism from the followers of Muthumula Ashok Reddy, a former MLA and candidate for the TDP from Giddalur. The seats of Markapur MLA Nagarjuna Reddy and Giddalur MLA Anna Rambabu have been switched by the YSRC high leadership. Taking advantage of this, the TDP is claiming that the YSRC put forward a candidate who is not from the area. He was moved from the constituency of Markapur, which is nearby.

The seats of Markapur MLA Nagarjuna Reddy and Giddalur MLA Anna Rambabu have been switched by the YSRC high leadership. Profiting from this, the TDP and its allies are claiming that the YSRC put up a foreign candidate in Giddalur.

Similarly, TDP contender and current MLA in Kondapi (SC), DSBV Swamy, is from Turpu Naidupalem village inside the same constituency and is attempting to win a hat-trick.
