In Advance of the Lok Sabha Elections, NDA ally OP Rajbhar Is Seeking Five Seats in UP and Four in Bihar

Lucknow: As part of the National Democratic Alliance, Om Prakash Rajbhar, the president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has sought from the BJP five Lok Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh and four Lok Sabha seats from Bihar, according to his son on Thursday.

Arun Rajbhar, the top spokesman for the SBSP and the son of Mr. Rajbhar, told PTI that the party president had discussed seat sharing with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday in Delhi.

Mr. Rajbhar had also seen JP Nadda, the president of the BJP, on December 29.

According to Arun Rajbhar, during his talks with Shah and Nadda, his father requested the Lok Sabha seats from Bihar (Nawada, Valmiki Nagar, Siwan, and Karakat) as well as the UP (Ghazipur, Ballia, Mau, Salempur, and Chandauli).

According to Arun Rajbhar, the party leader has received assurances from the BJP officials that a decision would be made when the appropriate time arrives.

Additionally, according to Arun Rajbhar, his father has been informed by Amit Shah and JP Nadda that he would be appointed as a minister in the extended UP cabinet, a move that is anticipated to happen after January 16.

The leaders of both parties have accepted the SBSP president’s invitation to host large-scale rallies for the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh districts of Azamgarh and Basti after January, he said.

In cooperation with the Samajwadi Party, the SBSP ran in and won six seats in the most recent UP assembly elections in 2022. The party joined the BJP-led NDA after severing relations with the SP.

Just before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, OP Rajbhar, the minister of backward class welfare in the NDA administration that was created in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, announced his resignation, citing disagreements with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Mr. Rajbhar represents the Ghazipur seat of Zahoorabad as an MLA.
