Nashik: On Monday morning, a significant fire broke out in the old city area, destroying property valued at thousands of rupees.
A senior member of the municipal fire brigade department said that it took his team three hours to contain the fire.

“The incident that happened at 7.15 am in the Chowk Mandai area of Bhadrakali did not result in any injuries or fatalities,” the official said.

“The fire started in a store selling secondhand motorcycles and quickly spread to nearby homes and businesses. The firefighters alerted the head office to the extent of the fire after sending a fire tender to the scene. Later, nine additional fire tenders from other fire stations were also sent, the official said.

A fire has completely destroyed around forty two-wheelers. Two kuccha huts and a footwear godown were also entirely destroyed. Three homes next to it were also partially damaged by the fire.
Twenty firefighters put forth a lot of overtime to contain the fire. They received assistance from the locals as well,” the official said.

“We still don’t know what started the fire. It is not impossible for a short circuit to occur. Fuel on the two-wheelers contributed to the fire’s spread, the officer said, adding that the whole loss may exceed Rs 50 lakh.
Additionally, a squad from the Bhadrakali police station raced to the scene to control the crowd and guarantee that the firefighting proceeded without incident.
