In Kukatpally, two rape and murder a ragpicker

Two unidentified individuals are suspected of sexually assaulting and killing a 45-year-old lady in Kukatpally on Saturday night.

The deceased was employed in the neighborhood as a ragpicker, according to the authorities. She was attacked on Saturday night by two people who dragged her into a workshop’s basement and then sexually assaulted her. The police said that the two suspects then drove off from the scene.

When the business owner entered his workshop on Sunday morning at about ten a.m., he discovered the victim’s lifeless corpse. He called 100 to alert the authorities, and thereafter Kukatpally police station officials showed up at the location.

“We have formed four teams to check footage from the CCTV cameras and find the accused persons,” the police stated, adding that the woman was bleeding from her private areas. In order to help the police track down the culprits, a Clues team is also identifying the license plates of the vehicles.

The two unnamed individuals were charged with murder and sexual assault under Sections 302 (murder) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by the Kukatpally police. Investigations are still being conducted further.
