INDIA VOTES 2024: After May 17, Shimla ballots will be delivered to the printing

Today, a conference was conducted to discuss producing ballot papers and mailing vote papers for the Lok Sabha elections. Ajit Bhardwaj, the Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), presided over it.

It was planned to have the ballot papers and postal ballot papers produced by the Himachal Pradesh Printing and Stationery Department in the state capital in order to ensure a successful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections.

According to Bhardwaj, the printing of ballot paper and postal belt paper will begin on May 17, 2024, at 3 p.m., after the final list of candidates for the Shimla Parliamentary seat (reserved) is finalized. “The software update process will be finished ahead of schedule to ensure that there are no issues with printing ballots and postal ballots,” he said.

He said that on any of the three days that would be set before May 29th, service voters, police, and staff connected to critical services would be able to cast their ballots at a facilitation center. He said that as the ballot and postal ballot papers for voters over 85 and voters with disabilities would only be produced here, the printing procedure would be guaranteed to be completed within the allotted time.

In order to avoid any inconveniences during the elections, he advised all officials and staff members participating in the process to get their own identification cards created. Attending the meeting were nodal officers, assistant returning officers, Tehsildar Election Rajendra Sharma, Printing Press Controller Rajeev Prabha, and others.
