Jairam Ramesh claims the pandemic lockdown decision to overthrow the Cong government in MP in 2020 was delayed.

Jairam Ramesh, a Congress politician, said on Sunday that the decision to impose lockdown in light of COVID-19 was postponed in order to topple the Kamal Nath administration in Madhya Pradesh.

In March 2020, a mutiny led by a number of MLAs who were loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia brought down the Nath administration. It cleared the path for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Shivraj Singh Chouhan administration to return.

In the latter half of March, the Union administration imposed the lockdown nationwide.

“Lockdown was not instituted at the appropriate time during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a 10-day window was provided to guarantee our government in MP falls.” There was a plot here. Traitors are many, Ramesh said.

At a news conference held here, he said that people in Madhya Pradesh, where Assembly elections are scheduled on November 17, are tired of the BJP’s leadership and would restore the Congress to power.

In Karnataka, the Congress delivered six of its “guarantees” (poll pledges), while in Madhya Pradesh, it made twelve promises for the next elections.

According to him, these assurances include an LPG cylinder for Rs 500, Rs 1500 per month for women, waivers of agricultural loans up to Rs 2 lakh, the old government pension plan, the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers, allowances for young people without jobs, scholarships for children attending school, and more.

The BJP referred to the promises made by the Congress in Karnataka as “revdi” (freebies), but Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now implementing them, he said.

When asked what the opposition’s INDIA bloc’s divisions were, Ramesh said that the alliance was for the Lok Sabha elections and that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had declared that the coalition will be strengthened in front of the general elections in the following year.

He said that while the members of the INDIA bloc, a democratic coalition made up of around 25 parties including the Congress, talk in various voices, they would eventually come to an agreement.

Ramesh said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra, spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi, had resulted in a revolutionary shift in Indian politics, achieving victory for the Congress in Karnataka and guaranteeing similar outcomes in five states’ Assembly votes.

When asked about Union Minister Anurag Thakur’s claims that the Congress in Himachal Pradesh had not followed through on its election pledges, Ramesh said that the government of the party had been dealing with severe flooding for a number of months.

However, Ramesh claimed that despite the Chief Minister’s plea to the Center, BJP president JP Nadda and Thakur, who are both from HP, did not believe it was acceptable to have the floods classified as a “national disaster.”

When questioned about the charges made against Bhupesh Baghel, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, in the Mahadev app investigation by federal agents, Ramesh retaliated by bringing up the Mahakal Lok Corridor (near Ujjain), which the Congress believes was poorly constructed due to corruption.

“In addition to the BJP, particularly in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, we are also battling alongside its two horses, the ED and CBI. “These are Prime Minister Modi’s weapons,” he said.

Three months ago, according to Ramesh, Baghel requested that the Mahadev betting app be banned and that the individuals responsible be placed into custody; nevertheless, the Center did not take any action.
