Jalandhar: Housing plan beneficiaries demonstrate and meet KD Bhandari, the head of the BJP

Three housing projects’ allottees, Indra Puram Master Gurbanta Singh Enclave, Bibi Bhani Complex, and Surya Enclave Extension, met with KD Bhandari, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, at the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate office after staging a protest.

The BJP leader and the allottees presented a letter of complaint to Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, requesting that the consumer commission’s instructions about the JIT chairman’s detention be carried out.

The beneficiaries conveyed their dissatisfaction with the Trust’s continued disregard for the instructions from the district, state, and federal consumer commissioners over their money’s return. The principle amount, interest, and compensation awarded by the consumer commissions after the Trust lost suits to the allottees make up the total of Rs 29 crore.

“The consumer commissions subsequently issued non-bailable warrants against the JIT chairman in these instances after the Trust disregarded the directives. But the cops did not carry out the warrants. According to Darshan Singh Ahuja, an allottee, more than 100 of these warrants have been issued. The police have responded to each order by saying that “orders not met.”

He said they had been fighting for justice for more than ten years while pleading for the release of dues. He drew attention to the dire state of these housing projects, which are beset by anti-social forces and unlawful migrant invasion.

Another allottee, Manohar Lal Sehgal, said that as a senior person, he was compelled to go to the JIT office and courts often to retrieve his hard-earned investment. More than ten years had gone, and neither the former administration nor the current one had shown any intention to provide justice.

He said, “We demand that the JIT pay all of our allottees and clear our dues in a timely manner.”

The BJP officials allegedly pledged to take their issue up with higher authorities, and the police had guaranteed that court orders would be followed, according to the allottees.

The allottees, meantime, announced that they will meet with the SHO of the Division No. 4 police station on April 18 and present him with a letter requesting that the commission’s directives be carried out.
