Jammu & Kashmir: On February 20, PM Modi will make a visit there

The Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the country, and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 30,500 crore during a public gathering at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu at about 11:30 AM. According to a news statement from the Prime Minister’s office, “the projects relate to several sectors including health, education, rail, road, aviation, petroleum, and civic infrastructure, among others.”

Approximately 1500 newly recruited government employees from Jammu and Kashmir will get appointment orders from the Prime Minister at the occasion. The Prime Minister will also meet with people who are the recipients of several government programs under the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu” initiative.

“The Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone of several projects worth about Rs 13,375 crore, representing a significant step towards upgrading and developing education and skilling infrastructure across the country,” the announcement said.

The permanent campuses of IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIT Jammu, and IIITDM Kancheepuram are among the projects devoted to the country. Other notable examples include the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS), a cutting-edge facility for advanced technology skill development, situated in Kanpur; and the two campuses of Central Sanskrit University, one in Devprayag (Uttarakhand) and the other in Agartala (Tripura).
“The three new IIMs in the nation—IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, and IIM Visakhapatnam—will be officially opened by the prime minister. According to the statement, he would also officially open 20 new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalaya (NV) facilities throughout the nation.

The nation’s five Kendriya Vidyalaya campuses, one Navodaya Vidyalaya campus, and five Multipurpose Halls for Navodaya Vidyalayas will all have their foundation stones laid by the prime minister. These recently built KVs and NVs buildings will be crucial in helping the nation’s kids get the education they need.

at an effort to provide the people of Jammu and Kashmir comprehensive, high-quality, and all-encompassing tertiary care health services, the Prime Minister will open the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu. The Prime Minister also lay the institute’s foundation stone in February 2019. Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana is the central sector initiative that is being formed for this purpose.
The new terminal building at Jammu Airport will have its foundation stone laid by the prime minister. The new terminal building, which will occupy 40,000 square meters and have contemporary amenities to accommodate 2000 people during peak hours, will be constructed. The new terminal building will be constructed with environmental sustainability and regional cultural heritage in mind. According to the statement, it will improve air connectivity, increase commerce and tourism, and hasten the region’s economic development.

The freshly electrified Baramulla-Sringar-Banihal-Sangaldan segment (185.66 km) and the new rail line connecting Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan (48 km) are among the rail projects in Jammu & Kashmir that the prime minister will dedicate to the country. The first electric train in the valley will be inaugurated by the prime minister, along with train service between Sangaldan and Baramulla stations.

“The Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section’s commissioning is noteworthy since it uses Ballast Less Track (BLT) throughout, giving passengers a superior riding experience. Also, this section between Khari and Sumber has the T-50, India’s longest transportation tunnel (12.77 km). According to the statement, “the rail projects will ensure environmental sustainability, improve connectivity, and boost the overall economic development of the region.”

Prime Minister Modi will lay the cornerstone for several significant road projects during the program, including the construction of the Kulgam Bypass & Pulwama bypass on NH-444, Phase Two of the four-laning of the Srinagar Ring Road, five packages for upgrading the 161-kilometer Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri stretch of NH-01, and two packages (44.22 KM) of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway connecting Jammu to Katra.

The Prime Minister will also lay the cornerstone for the construction of a petroleum store in Jammu known as the CUF (Common User Facility). The announcement states that the state-of-the-art fully automated depot, which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 677 crore, will have a storage capacity of roughly 100,000 KL and be used to store winter-grade HSD, motor spirit (MS), high-speed diesel (HSD), superior kerosene oil (SKO), aviation turbine fuel (ATF), ethanol, and biodiesel.
In addition, the prime minister will officially open and lay the groundwork for a number of development initiatives totaling over Rs 3150 crore that will improve Jammu and Kashmir’s municipal infrastructure and provide public amenities.

“Road projects and bridges; grid stations, receiving stations, transmission line projects; common effluent treatment plants and sewage treatment plants; multiple degree college buildings; intelligent traffic management system in Srinagar city; modern Narwal Fruit Mandi; drug testing laboratory at Kathua; and transit accommodation – 224 flats at Ganderbal and Kupwara are among the projects to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.” The construction of five new industrial estates throughout Jammu and Kashmir, the data center and disaster recovery center for the Integrated Command and Control Center of Jammu Smart City, the upgrading of Transport Nagar at Parimpora Srinagar, the upgrading of 62 road projects and 42 bridges, and the project for the development of transit accommodation—2816 flats at nine locations in the districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Kupwara, Shopian, and Pulwama, among others—are among the projects whose foundation stone will be laid, according to the release.
