Kejriwal requests bail due to medical concerns: BJP
The Delhi BJP claimed on Thursday that the court has received shocking information about Arvind Kejriwal’s imprisonment from the investigating agency.
Virendra Sachdeva, the head of the Delhi BJP, said, “Kejriwal’s weight has increased by one kilogram while in jail, which is allegedly part of a well-planned conspiracy to facilitate his release on medical grounds.”
He said that even though Kejriwal has type 2 diabetes, he still orders sweets and mangoes from home when he is incarcerated. He went on to say that the Chief Minister is purposefully raising his blood sugar levels since he knows the information the investigating agencies have against him makes it harder for him to get bail via the regular channels.
He said that Kejriwal was of questionable character, saying, “On the one hand, the AAP leader presents himself as a devotee of Lord Hanuman and Ram on the recently formed website Ram Rajya. However, Kejriwal is eating eggs inside the prison during Navratri.
Kejriwal is keen to be released on medical bail, even if it means jeopardizing his health, according to BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, who said that Kejriwal has understood the strength of the ED case against him and that it is doubtful he would be granted bail in the next months.
Tiwari said that because the Kejriwal administration is in charge of Delhi’s Tihar Jail, the Chief Minister can easily oversee the facility and unrestricted food supply. “It is imperative that Kejriwal be moved to a jail outside of Delhi, not under the control of an AAP government, out of respect for the jail manual and the Chief Minister’s own health.”
