LS polls: Today, PM Modi will campaign in MP, Bengal, and Bihar

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at electoral rallies in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, and Nawada, Bihar. He is also planning a roadshow in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The Prime Minister is expected to speak at a rally in Nawada at noon, then in Jalpaiguri at 3:15 p.m. Around 6:15 p.m., he will begin his roadshow in support of BJP candidate Ashish Dubey for Jabalpur.

Important political developments that will take place nationwide today include:

* This Sunday, at about 11:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively, Rajasthan’s Bikaner and Jhunjhunu will have public forums hosted by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

* On Sunday at about 2:45 p.m., BJP President J.P. Nadda will speak at a rally in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. At 5:30 p.m., he will go to Tiruchirappalli to conduct a roadshow.

* On Sunday, Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will campaign in Rajasthan for BJP candidates. He’ll speak at public gatherings in the districts of Bharatpur, Dausa, and Sikar in favor of the BJP candidates.

* On Sunday, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav will pay a visit to the family home of Mukhtar Ansari, a thug who turned politician, in the Yusufpur neighborhood of Mohammadabad town in the Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. He is going to see Ansari’s family and offer his sympathies. On March 28, Ansari passed away in a Banda hospital after cardiac arrest.

* On Sunday, AAP leaders and party members will participate in a daylong “collective fast” in protest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s apprehension.

* Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to speak at rallies in Hojai, Lakhimpur, and Gohpur during his two-day visit to Assam, which begins on Sunday.

* On Sunday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will host a public gathering for Sunil Mendhe, the BJP candidate running for the Lok Sabha seat from Bhandara-Gondiya in Maharashtra’s Gondia district.

* On Sunday, Digvijay Singh, a prominent Congressman and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, will lead the “Wada Nibhao Padyatra” at Chachoura. The Congress contender for the Rajgarh Lok Sabha seat is named Digvijay Singh.

* On Sunday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will speak at a farmers’ meeting in Panchu to endorse the BJP candidate running for the Bikaner parliamentary seat.

* On Sunday, Bhupendra Singh Choudhary, the head of the Uttar Pradesh BJP, will speak at a gathering of BJP booth presidents in the Gautam Buddha Nagar assembly seats of Dadri and Jewar.

* The BJP’s Lok Sabha Volunteers’ Conference in Azamgarh will hear remarks from Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

* Union Minister Smriti Irani will speak at a public gathering in Meerut on Sunday to encourage support for Arun Govil, the BJP’s candidate.

* On Sunday, Nayab Saini, the chief minister of Haryana, will host a rally in Tohana, the Sirsa Lok Sabha seat. The Chief Minister will take part in further events in the constituency after the rally.

* On Sunday at about noon, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari will conduct a roadshow in Balaghat. There, he will also speak at a public gathering.

* On Sunday, at Letibunga, Nainital, Uttrakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will give a speech to the public in support of BJP candidate Ajay Bhatt for the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency.
