Mamata slams Congress and threatens to break up the partnership in West Bengal, saying, “We will not tolerate any interference.”

NEW DELHI: Mamata Banerjee, the president of the Trinamool Congress and the chief minister of West Bengal, issued a strong warning to the Congress on Wednesday, threatening to dissolve the opposition alliance INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) in the state.

Mamata said, “I have not spoken to anyone in the Congress (on seat-sharing),” one day after Rahul Gandhi announced that discussions on seat-sharing in West Bengal were underway.
Allow Congress to contend with 300 seats on its own. Together, the regional parties are able to compete in the remaining areas. But we will not put up with any meddling from them (Congress).
A belligerent In addition to publicly disputing Rahul Gandhi’s statements over the seat-sharing negotiations, Mamata also chastised the ruling party for failing to notify her of the state’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra program.
Within the opposition alliance INDIA, which was established to oppose the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool chairman also issued a warning about regional parties and the Congress. “Only upon the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections will the regional parties make further choices. The regional parties will not split, the speaker said.
Rahul’s advances towards her did not appear to affect Mamata either, and she chastised him for not telling her when his Nyay Yatra in West Bengal was scheduled. “I could have been informed about the West Bengal Nyay Yatra schedule for alliance purposes.” But I received no information,” the chief minister of West Bengal said.
Rahul said on Tuesday that he and Mamata Banerjee had excellent personal ties. During an organizational meeting on Tuesday, Mamata hinted that the Trinamool Congress should be prepared to field candidates from all 42 Lok Sabha seats if necessary, raising the first signs that she would run for office alone in Bengal. Mamata had attacked the Left last week for attempting to set the INDIA bloc’s agenda.

The Congress quickly went into damage repair mode hours after Mamata’s rant, declaring that no one could picture the opposition INDIA bloc existing without Mamata Banerjee. Banerjee’s party, the Trinamool Congress, is a “important pillar” of the opposition coalition, according to Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh.
“It is impossible to envision the INDIA alliance without Mamata ji.” All (partners) would take part in the INDIA bloc’s campaign in West Bengal for the Lok Sabha elections,” he said.
But, the Congress will need to control state president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who publicly criticizes Mamata Banerjee and has been attacking her almost every day, if it hopes to maintain its alliance in West Bengal.
Adhir Chowdhury attacked Mamata once again on Tuesday, referring to her as a “opportunist” and saying that the Congress party is capable of running its own independent campaign.
“The polls will not be held under Mamata Banerjee’s sway this time. In the two seats where Mamata Banerjee is stepping down, the Congress beat the BJP and TMC. The Congress party is skilled at running for office. The Congress MP remarked during a news conference, “Mamta Banerjee is an opportunist; she came to power in 2011 with the mercy of Congress.”
Chowdhury made a strong declaration earlier on Saturday, claiming that he doesn’t give a damn about anybody running in the West Bengal Lok Sabha Election since he is an experienced fighter.
“I have no concern for anybody. Our leaders have already made their remarks. I could not be here if I had not competed and won. We are capable of competing and triumphing “Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.
Adhir’s assaults on Mamata have drawn criticism from Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), which claims that the Congressman’s comments would ultimately benefit the BJP in the state. Adhir is referred to by the Trinamool Congress as a BJP agent.
