Man found dead in his fields in Amritsar; two companions apprehended by police

On Thursday, Sukhdev Singh Laddi (47), a resident of Dhirekot village under the jurisdiction of Jandiala Guru police station, was discovered dead at this location under suspicious circumstances.

In addition, the corpse, which had been mauled by stray dogs, had wounds that seemed to have been inflicted by a sharp object. Following the discovery of the corpse on Thursday morning, the police filed a murder case against unnamed individuals. His relatives were able to identify him by his clothing.

The victim’s brother, Bachitar Singh, said that early on Thursday morning, he had gone to his fields to water them. He usually returns by 7 a.m., but he didn’t come back yesterday. He called his cell phone many times, but got no answer.

After that, his family and the locals began searching for him. His garments allowed for his identification when his disfigured corpse was discovered in the fields.

Sukhjinde Singh, also known as Nikka, and Puran Chand, also known as Pannu, of Chamiari village in Jalandhar, were identified as suspects by the police throughout the course of the inquiry, according to Satinder Singh, SSP, Amritsar (Rural). Within 24 hours following the event, both were taken into custody.

During questioning, it became clear that they and Sukhdev Singh were at odds over money. The victim was acquainted with both of the accused. They fought with him about it yesterday, and when they couldn’t agree, they murdered him with a sharp-edged weapon that they found. Both of them had admitted to the crime. They appeared in court, after which they were placed under police detention to be questioned in further detail.
