Man in the UP receives 30 years in prison for raping a 5-year-old daughter

May 17, Bijnor The POCSO court in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, presided over by special judge Prakash Chand Shukla, found a 24-year-old male guilty of raping a 5-year-old girl in November 2021 and sentenced him to 30 years of hard labor.

Additionally, the court fined the defendant Rs 1 lakh, of which Rs 80,000 will go to the survivor, according to Yogendra Singh, assistant district government counsel (ADGC).

Singh claims that on November 6, 2021, a lady from the Mandavali area of Bijnor filed a complaint alleging that her daughter was being enticed by the accused with candy and was raped. The mother was allegedly on her way to a madrasa.

In some way, the youngster made it home and told her parents.

The ADGC noted in the ruling on Thursday that “based on the parents’ complaint, police registered a case under IPC section 376ab (Whoever commits rape on a woman under the age of 12 shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act against the accused.”
