Three People Arrested for Engaging in Illegal Conversion in Kaushambi, UP: Police

According to a senior official, police detained three individuals on Tuesday in this Uttar Pradesh area for allegedly engaging in unauthorized religious conversion.

According to Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, locals in the Sarai Akil police station area claim that Ramchandra Pal, a resident of the nearby village of Akbarabad, and his associates solicit Scheduled Caste (SC) members to visit them every Monday, promising to use “miracles” to cure their illnesses and other issues and convert them from Hinduism to Christianity.

The officer also said that a complaint has been filed under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act against the accused.

The three males who were taken into custody have been named as Govind Pandey, Gulbadan, and Abhishek Kumar Pasi.
