Maneka and Varun Gandhi skip the gathering when PM Narendra Modi brings up the Ram and the Pilibhit riots of 1984

PILIBHIT/BHOPAL: On Tuesday, during his first Lok Sabha poll rally in the constituency in ten years of Central government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of attempting on multiple occasions to obstruct the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and of “insulting” the god by “rejecting an invitation to the pran pratishtha” ceremony.

Shortly after, at a meeting in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, Modi said that he will “open every locker where corruption money has been stored” over the next five years, calling it a “Modi guarantee”. In only three days, Modi made his second campaign visit to Madhya Pradesh.
“For six years, you drove out the leaders who came there (pran pratishtha). “I’m still baffled as to why they harbor such hatred,” he stated in Pilibhit.
The ceremony was attended by incumbent Member of Parliament Varun Gandhi, who was not given a party ticket by Pilibhit, and his mother, Maneka Gandhi, who is contesting the elections from Sultanpur on a BJP ticket.
Congress, according to Modi, has been “insulting shakti (feminine power)”. He made fun of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress for their opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, which provides citizenship to six religious minorities that immigrated to India from three neighboring countries before December 2014. Additionally, he urged these Pilibhit-based families to submit an application for “citizenship”.
Modi went on, “Congress can never escape the daldal (quicksand) of appeasement because it is so deeply ingrained in it. It seems that the manifesto it produced was inspired by the Muslim League.”
In an attempt to garner attention from the significant Sikh voter base in Pilibhit and the surrounding districts of Lakhimpur Kheri, Udham Singh Nagar, and Shahjahanpur (Uttarakhand), he made reference to the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 and said, “What Congress had done to our Sikh brothers and sisters, nobody can forget…”
In Balaghat, Modi said, “Ever since the BJP government was formed, it is shutting down every door of corruption…,” making reference to the efforts of the ED and other federal agencies. Hundreds of crores are being retrieved from dynastic parties’ possessions.”
