Minister for Haryana Ranjit Chautala states that he is not opposed to running in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections

Ranjit Singh Chautala, a minister for Haryana, has said he is open to running for office in the Lok Sabha in 2024 and could do so if the BJP gives him a ticket.

Ranjit Chautala, an Independent MLA from Rania in the Sirsa district, claimed that politics is the “art of the possible.”

The state’s minister of power and corrections said that no one had anticipated the BJP would fall short of the majority threshold and need help to form the government when he won the Rania seat in the 2019 assembly elections.

Ranjit Chautala said that when the BJP fell short of a majority, he was the first to pledge the party his unwavering support.

The BJP received assistance from the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and Independents in 2019, which led to the formation of the Haryana government.

“When I won the election, I had no idea that two hours later I would have to back the BJP. Today, I feel at ease with the BJP, and they have a lot of faith in me, said Ranjit Chautala.

He remarked of running for office in the Lok Sabha elections, “If the BJP offers, I can consider.”

However, Ranjit Chautala disqualified himself from running as an Independent.

I may run in the Vidhan Sabha elections as an Independent, but there will be a straight contest between the BJP and the Congress (in Haryana) in the Lok Sabha, he added.

The Haryana minister further said that if he were to run in the national elections, Hisar would be his first choice.

He said that Haryana has shown a lot of love and care for the Chautala family, and that everywhere they have joined the contest, people have supported them.

“There is nothing that can stop our family. In Sikar, Rajasthan, Balram Jakhar was beaten by Chaudhary Devi Lal, who later became an MP from Sonipat, Rohtak.

“Ajay Chautala, (Ranjit Chautala’s nephew), was chosen to represent Bhiwani in parliament. Currently, Dushyant Chautala, the deputy chief minister, represents Uchana, while Naina Chautala represents the Badhra constituency. Anywhere in the world, our family can compete and win,” he remarked.

The BJP and the JJP, led by Ajay Chautala, have been unsure if they would run together in the 2024 Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Ranjit Chautala is most likely to get the saffron party’s nomination for one of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state if the parties decide to compete independently.

In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, the BJP is represented by 41 MLAs, the Congress by 30, and the JJP by 10. The BJP-led administration has the backing of six out of the seven Independent MLAs. Both the pro-Khattar Haryana Lokhit Party and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) have one legislator apiece.

In Haryana, the BJP won all 10 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Ranjit Chautala is the brother of INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala and the son of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal.

Ranjit Chautala declared that he would invite Devi Lal’s supporters as well as other regular people for lunch in Sirsa on September 25, which is the former deputy prime minister’s birthday.

Additionally, he intends to invite the prime minister, the home minister, the chief minister, and other prominent BJP officials to a rally in remembrance of Devi Lal that would be held in Hisar in February.

Ranjit Chautala said that there is no leader with the gravitas of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when asked about the opposition INDIA alliance.

The BJP is the strongest and biggest party in the country right now, and other parties are in danger of extinction. As a result, its competitors are considering how to survive in this situation. Therefore, banding together has ceased to be motivated by any shared ideology and has instead become a need, he argued.

Parties like the INLD, which has always opposed the Congress, are also thinking of joining this “baraat,” which now has 40 or so leaders.

Ranjit Chautala praised Modi as well, claiming that his administration increased India’s standing abroad.

“No matter the problem, everyone in the globe wants to hear what India has to say about it. “World leaders praised India and Modi for hosting the G20 Summit so successfully,” he remarked.
