Minister salutes 14 PWD construction equipment

At Taradevi, Minister of Public Works and Urban Development Vikramaditya Singh today unveiled 14 of the 102 new earthmovers. The Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD) has spent over Rs 23 crore to acquire the 102 earthmovers.

Speaking at the event, he said that by using the GeM platform to acquire this equipment, savings of almost Rs 10 crore had been achieved. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for his assistance in getting the department’s machinery.

In order to eliminate operational risks in the event of a crisis, the minister said that these devices would be sent to every subdivision.

He continued by saying that the agency had made some swift decisions in light of the harm done by the natural catastrophe brought on by heavy rains the previous year. “Buying these machines was one of the decisions,” he said.
