MP Balbir Singh Seechewal meets AAP leaders in Delhi

Balbir Seechewal, the MP for the Aam Aadmi Party, was invited to the national capital and met with AAP officials two days after he told the media in Jalandhar that he would not vote for any political party or take part in any rallies.

At the party headquarters, Seechewal first encountered Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. He then proceeded to the home of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the national coordinator of the AAP. There, he met Jarnail Singh, the AAP Punjab chief, and his wife, Sunita Kejriwal. Later in the evening, the MP also paid a visit to Sandeep Pathak, the national general secretary of the AAP.

Following the talks, Seechewal’s staff said that he was not under any pressure to attend political rallies and that he had the backing of all party officials for the environmental initiatives he had been carrying out. Seechewal has been advising voters to support any party whose program includes environmental initiatives.

When Sunita had arranged a meeting of all Punjab MPs last week, Seechewal had not yet met her.

The other two MPs, Seechewal and cricketer Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, had not shown up, but MPs Ashok Mittal, Sanjeev Arora, and Vikramjit Sawhney had greeted her with their spouses. As directed by the party, Seechewal and Bhajji have yet to alter their DPs to depict Arvind Kejriwal in prison.
