MPs arrive in a rainbow of colors for a last photo at the historic Parliament building

Just hours before legislative activities moved to the new Parliament House, members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha posed for a group portrait at the old Parliament building on Tuesday.

On the inner courtyard of the ancient Parliament building, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar was seated, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on each side of him.

Amit Shah, the head of the Union Home Ministry, Rajnath Singh, the defense minister, and Rajya Sabha Leader Those in the front row included Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Sonia Gandhi, Shafiq-ur-Rahman Barq, 93, a member of the Samajwadi Party’s Lok Sabha, veteran politicians Sharad Pawar (NCP), Farooq Abdullah (NC), and BJP President J P Nadda.

The female members showed up in brilliant sarees, while the majority of the male members opted for white pajamas with colorful waistcoats for the picture shoot.

When BJP Rajya Sabha member Narhari Amin passed out during the early morning session, there were some tense moments. Piyush Goyal, the commerce minister, and other politicians flocked to his aid. The 68-year-old Amin was spotted receiving water from officials before joining the group picture.

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, was spotted standing in the second-to-last row alongside Manish Tewari. Members of the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha were photographed while others were spotted squatting on the ground.
