Murders in east Delhi homes: Police haven’t yet pieced everything together

NEW DELHI: Last week, two shocking murder instances that occurred inside houses occurred in the same east Delhi neighborhood. In one instance, two children were discovered dead, their mother was gravely wounded, and their father was found dead on railroad tracks. In the other case, a lady and her brother were found brutally killed. The horrific deaths have been attributed by the police to the spouses of both ladies.

Police stated that in the first instance, the accused husband had made a variety of claims, including that he had a dream in which he killed his wife and that he suffered from bipolar illness and denied having sex. The guy was arrested by the apparently incompetent police, who also threatened to kill all of the family members with dowry accusations.

However, they have failed to provide an explanation for why, in this instance, the 30-year-old woman’s and her 17-year-old brother’s bodies were uncovered up to their waists. They said that in order to determine if a sexual assault occurred, they were awaiting the autopsy results. A senior officer responded that they were unaware of any proof of the accused’s mental health issues, including bipolar illness, when asked whether police had discovered any.

The deceased’s family members have voiced their displeasure with the investigation’s development. “Whenever I ask police what is going on in the case, they only say investigation is under way,” the woman’s brother expressed his frustration. How can these words alone satisfy us? When they asked about the husband’s claims made during questioning about the reason for the killings, they allegedly received the same answer. The team of DCP Apoorva Gupta is investigating the matter.

In the second instance, the mother survived the assault and was receiving critical treatment at AIIMS Trauma Center, but the 15-year-old son and his 9-year-old sister were found dead at their house. Police classified the death of the children’s father, Shyamji Chaurasia, on the tracks as self-harm even though no suicide note was discovered there.

The family’s door has reportedly been shut for the last two days, and no one has been seen outside, according to the neighbors. The woman’s relatives alerted the police when they had suspicions about anything suspicious. The children’s corpses, drenched in blood, lay on the bed. In the room next to the one where the children’s corpses were located, the mother’s body was discovered on the floor. Although they wouldn’t say why, police claimed to have CCTV evidence of Chaurasia wandering alone herself close to the railroad. DCP Gupta did not have time to respond.
