Nadda meeting pointless, BJP chief Vijay Sampla at the door of Akali Dal
Vijay Sampla, a senior BJP leader, is expected to join SAD after being denied a ticket from the Hoshiarpur parliamentary seat.
Anita Som Parkash, the Hoshiarpur-born wife of MoS Som Parkash, was the BJP’s nominee. Sources said Sampla may join Akali Dal, despite the fact he remained in contact with the Congress and SAD till Wednesday.
On Wednesday, he met with SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, and today, they met again in Chandigarh.
Sampla apparently didn’t get much out of his meeting with JP Nadda, the national head of the BJP, yesterday in Delhi. Sampla would run from Hoshiarpur “at all costs,” according to his acquaintances.
The Congress and SAD have not yet revealed their nominees for Hoshiarpur.
“Sampla has expressed his willingness to join SAD,” a top Akali leader said. The party may field him for the Hoshiarpur parliamentary seat after he joins, which is anticipated to happen tomorrow.
