Nepal PM is scheduled to arrive in MP for a two-day visit; he will visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and attend a dinner hosted by the CM

According to authorities, Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal “Prachanda” will go to Madhya Pradesh for two days starting on Friday. While there, he would stop at the well-known Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain and an Indore solid waste management facility maintained by the local government.

The Nepali prime minister is expected to arrive at the Indore airport around 10 in the morning, and then, at approximately 11.15, he would visit the Mahakaleshwar temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlings (important sites of Lord Shiva devotion) in the nation.

After visiting the temple, he will drive back to Indore and meet with Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel at roughly 4 o’clock. He would go to a solid waste treatment facility maintained by the Indore Municipal Corporation after the meeting, according to the authorities.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, would hold a banquet in Prachanda’s honour in Indore at 7.30 p.m., they said.

According to them, the Nepalese PM would go to the campuses of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys in an IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Indore on Saturday before departing for New Delhi later in the day.

In order to evaluate the preparations for the trip of the 68-year-old Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist) leader who entered office in December 2022, Chouhan on Thursday presided over a meeting with top officials in Indore through video conference. According to reports, the CM instructed staff to make suitable preparations for Prachanda’s MP visit, which would also include the organisation of cultural activities.

On Wednesday afternoon, a high-level team led by Prachanda landed in India for a four-day formal visit. The 68-year-old Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist) leader is making his first bilateral travel overseas since taking power in December 2022.

The Nepali prime minister met Narendra Modi, his Indian counterpart, on Thursday in New Delhi. While the two sides inked numerous significant agreements, including one to increase New Delhi’s purchase of electricity from the neighbouring nation to 10,000 megawatts in the next ten years, both presidents pledged to address the contentious border issue in the spirit of goodwill.

Following the meeting, PM Modi said that India will keep working to elevate its ties to Nepal to new heights.

According to Modi’s media release, he and Prachanda made a number of crucial choices to ensure that the two nations’ alliance would be a “super hit” in the future.
On Thursday, the prime minister of Nepal also spoke with vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar and president Droupadi Murmu.

In terms of India’s general strategic interests in the area, Nepal is significant, and the leaders of the two nations often discuss their long-standing “Roti-Beti” connection, which refers to cross-border marriages between citizens of the two nations.

With five Indian states — Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand — the nation has a border of more than 1,850 kilometres. The country is landlocked and significantly depends on India for the movement of goods and services, as well as for access to the sea.
