On a Hyderabad-Patna IndiGo flight, a “mentally disabled” man “misbehaves,” locking himself in the bathroom

For reportedly “misbehaving” and “locking himself” inside the restroom of an IndiGo Hyderabad-Patna airline mid-flight, a “mentally challenged” passenger was arrested. The guy was arrested as soon as the plane touched down at Patna Airport as a result of a complaint made against him by the crew.

The incident happened aboard IndiGo aircraft 6E 126, according an ANI report.

The crew’s report said, “He misbehaved on the flight and also locked himself inside the onboard bathroom.”

Vinod Peter, a station house officer at the airport police station, said that the passenger, Kamar Riyaz, is “mentally disabled” and receiving therapy.

“The passenger, Kamar Riyaz, is receiving therapy for mental illness. He had medical records with him. From Hyderabad to Patna, he was traveling with a relative, the officer was reported by ANI as adding.

We apprehended him, based on a report made by indigo employees, the man said.

The event is the subject of an ongoing inquiry.
