On April 6, the Congress will discuss the Himachal candidates in Delhi

With the return of chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today, discussions on choosing candidates for the four Lok Sabha seats and six Assembly by-polls are probably going to start.

Following his family’s obeisance at the Tirupati temple, the Chief Minister will be returning. On April 6, Pratibha Singh, the state Congress president and chief minister, will go to Delhi to attend the meeting of the election committee. It is anticipated that on or after April 6, the candidates for the Lok Sabha and six Assembly by-elections may be announced.

Given that it has declared every candidate, the BJP enjoys an early advantage in the campaign. In the current political climate, the Congress is unable to field any of its incumbent MLAs, hence, it is searching for strong candidates who can seize the Lok Sabha seats from the BJP.

The Congress is also debating whether to field fresh candidates or provide tickets to the BJP dissidents in the six bypolls.
