Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on December 30 is scheduled to include the inauguration, formal unveiling, and laying of the cornerstone for several development projects valued at over Rs 11,100 crore. These projects aim to renovate public facilities and create world-class infrastructure in the district.

The Prime Minister will launch new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains during his one-day visit, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He will also officially open the renovated Ayodhya Railway Station. In addition, he plans to contribute many more railway projects to the country. Along with laying the cornerstone for many development projects worth over Rs 15,700 crore in the state, the PM will also open the recently constructed Ayodhya Airport and take part in a public event. Approximately Rs 11,100 crore of these projects are for the development of Ayodhya and its environs, while approximately Rs 4600 crore are for other projects across Uttar Pradesh.

The goal of the prime minister’s strategy for Ayodhya is to build cutting-edge, contemporary infrastructure while maintaining the city’s rich cultural legacy and improving connectivity. The city is inaugurating a new airport, a refurbished railway station, and redeveloped, wider, and beautiful highways, among other municipal infrastructure, in order to realize this objective. In addition, the groundwork for many new initiatives that will improve the aesthetics and modernize public spaces in and surrounding Ayodhya will be laid.

Airport in Ayodhya

The construction of Phase 1 of the cutting-edge airport has cost around Rs 1,450 crore. The airport’s 6500 square meter terminal building will be able to accommodate around 10 lakh passengers a year. The Terminal Building’s front is a representation of the architecture of the future Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The terminal building’s interiors are embellished with regional artwork, including murals and paintings that illustrate Lord Ram’s life. In order to achieve GRIHA – 5 star ratings, the Ayodhya airport terminal building is also outfitted with a number of sustainable features, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, fountain-filled landscaping, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, a solar power plant, and many more. The airport will increase the area’s connectivity, which will promote commerce, tourism, and job prospects.

Station for Ayodhya Dham Railway

Over Rs 240 crore was spent on the development of Phase I of the renovated Ayodhya Railway Station, also known as Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station. The contemporary, three-story train station building has all the amenities of today, including waiting areas, cloak rooms, escalators, food plazas, stores for puja supplies, and elevators. The station building will be “green station building certified by IGBC” and “accessible for all.”
