On Gurupurab, Indian Envoy Taranjit Singh Sandhu was “heckled” by the Khalistani group at the Gurudwara in New York

Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Indian ambassador to the US, was reportedly heckled in New York by several pro-Khalistani individuals.

On the occasion of Gurupurab, Sandhu was reportedly heckled while visiting the Gurdwara in Hicksville, Long Island, New York.

On social media, the incident’s footage has also become quite popular.

The crowd is seen in the video confronting Sandhu as they are yelling about two terrorists identified by India: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

“Khalistanies tried to heckle Indian Ambassador @SandhuTaranjitS with basless Questions for his role in the failed plot to assassinate Gurpatwant, (SFJ) and Khalistan Referendum campaign,” Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesman RP Singh stated, sharing a fictitious video on social network X.

“Ambassador Sandhu was accused by Himmat Singh, the leader of the pro-Khalistan groups at the Hicksville Gurdwara in New York, of helping India carry out the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the president of the Surrey Gurdwara and the organizer of the Khalistan Referendum’s Canadian chapter,” Singh said.

While a protestor hoisted the Khalistani flag outside the Gurdwara, the Indian envoy was seen driving from the property.

“Privileged to join the local Sangat, including from Afghanistan, at Guru Nanak Darbar of Long Island in celebrating Gurpurab- listened to Kirtan, spoke about Guru Nanak’s everlasting message of togetherness, unity, and equality, partook langar, and sought blessings for all,” Sandhu wrote on X later, omitting to mention the heckling he had encountered.

Pro-Khalistani occurrences have increased in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia, among other nations.

According to HT, pro-Khalistan elements had traveled to Surrey, British Columbia, to protest a diplomatic camp at the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir on Sunday, but the tevotees and members of the Indo-Canadian community assaulted them.

Nearly 200 counterprotesters fought against the pro-Khalistan demonstration, which had been arranged by the separatist organization Sikhs for Justice, or SFJ, for more than three hours, according to a report citing temple authorities.
