On March 7, 9, CM Revanth will lay the stones for the elevated corridors

On March 7 and 9, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is scheduled to lay the foundation stones for the building of elevated corridors that will run across defense grounds in Secunderabad, as approved by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

On March 7, the foundation stones for a six-lane elevated corridor on Rajiv Rahadari State Highway-1 from Paradise Junction (at Gymkhana Grounds) to Outer Ring Road (ORR) Junction near Shamirpet will be laid. On March 9, the foundation stones for another six-lane elevated corridor on National Highway-44 from Paradise Junction to ORR Junction near Kandlakoya will be laid. With the cost of land acquisition excluded, the two routes are expected to cost around `9,000 crore. For commuters going from JBS to Shamirpet and Paradise to Medchal, these corridors are anticipated to ease traffic congestion, which would save time and lead to a decrease in pollution and accidents. For these two corridors, toll taxation may be considered, in contrast to the PVNR Expressway.

According to official authorities, this breakthrough would make it easier to improve the roadways that go to northern Telangana. To guarantee safe traffic operations and meet future traffic development, the project entails building elevated corridors in congested locations and extending existing highways to six lanes with two-lane service roads. Road furniture, bus bays, truck lay-bys, wayside amenities, toll plazas, strengthening and widening of the current pavement and bridge structures, building of new bridges, restoration of cross drainage structures, junction improvements, and underpasses for vehicles and pedestrians are just a few of the components that make up the project corridor. This corridor’s construction will cost around <1,375 crores in total, or ~75.71 crores per kilometer.

Similarly, a 22.600-hectare tract of both private and defense property must be acquired in order to build the 18.350 km long, six-lane elevated corridor that runs from Paradise to ORR Junction at Kandlakoya. There are also plans to build a double-decker Metro train link, according to the sources.
