On the first day of the “Safe School Vehicle” campaign in Amritsar, 33 automobiles were challaned

As part of the “Safe School Vehicle” campaign, the Traffic Police and District Child Protection Unit examined school buses around the district today. Of them, 33 were deemed unsafe for operation. Deputy Commissioner Ghansham Thori gave the order to begin the inspection.

The School Education Department and the Police Department are working to apply the safety regulations to protect the safety of pupils, according to RTA secretary Arshdeep Singh, with the help of SDMs.

“With the children’s safety in mind, we will maintain doing routine inspections of school cars. The drivers, necessary tools, paperwork, and other facilities were examined, and challans were given in the event that any violations were discovered, according to Singh.

According to him, on the first day of the journey, 33 school buses that disregarded the safety regulations were cited. Thirteen of the thirty-three cars were issued with challans by the District Child Protection section, and seventeen by the RTO office.

Prior to this, the individual mentioned that a special meeting was convened with the SDS, DEO, DCPO, and traffic police officers. During that meeting, it was decided that the Education Department should obtain written confirmation from each school principal that the buses or other vehicles used to transport students from schools adhere to all safety regulations.

It is crucial that school administrators uphold all of the requirements for vehicle safety under the safe school car policy. A police report will be filed against the principle or head of the school if an accident occurs, according to the RTA secretary.

In reference to the same, he said that a police report had been filed against the driver, the school’s traffic in-charge, and the principal over the recent road accident in Mahindergarh, Haryana, which claimed the lives of eight kids a few days before.
