Panchkula: 138 people in Sector 5, MDC, report having moderate diarrhea

In Sector 5 of the Mansa Devi Complex, 138 people have been reported to exhibit symptoms of diarrhea. Mild symptoms were being reported, according to health experts. There was one hospitalized individual.

According to Dr. Suresh Bhonsle, District Surveillance Officer, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, the Health Department began a survey and gave households packets of chlorine and ORS after discovering signs of diarrhea in many persons on Tuesday.

In Sector 5, MDC, the department discovered water pollution in societies 1, 3, 6, and 28. The relevant authorities said that the instances had been surfacing for four days. In addition to surveying over 1,200 homes, they sent out teams to find dengue patients.

They added that department representatives were also paying visits to members of the surrounding societies.

Today, the department’s personnel documented 38 new instances. “Up until now, we have identified a total of 138 cases of diarrhea in the area,” the authorities said. The patients’ symptoms are not very bad.

A hospital stay was required for one of the patients. He’s been let go.

The agency has instructed the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) health wing to guarantee that the area’s water supply is heavily chlorinated in order to prevent pollution.
