Panel of experts examines the arrangements

Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar met with central observers on Thursday to discuss the arrangements for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Polling in as many as 88 parliamentary seats across 12 states is planned for April 26. There have been deployed 89 general observers, 53 police observers, and 109 expenditure observers.

Central observers were instructed to guarantee that all constituencies were well-prepared in advance and that all parties involved—candidates and political parties—were treated equally.

The observers were given tight instructions to make sure that polling places had all the facilities that voters would need.
