Partap Singh Bajwa of Punjab said the suspension of MLAs is undemocratic

On Wednesday, Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan was criticized by Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa for suspending nine opposition MLAs.

It is an outright betrayal of democracy’s core values. Congress MLAs were suspended because the administration has been avoiding the party’s legitimate concerns. At all costs, this undemocratic action won’t be accepted, Bajwa continued.

According to Bajwa, the party reminded AAP of its eight pre-election pledges, which included providing women with Rs 1,000 per month, generating Rs 20,000 crore a year from mining, and putting a stop to corruption.

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the AAP, had pledged before the Assembly elections of 2022 that he would not accept a single rupee in loans. But according to their own records, a loan of Rs 60,000 crore has been taken out even though the two-year period hasn’t yet ended. It would be Rs 67,000 crore if the loans from February and March were taken into account, Bajwa continued.

Bajwa also demanded information on the 40,000 workers that the AAP administration said it had hired.
