Plan prepared to address Chheharta’s sewage issue: Amritsar Municipality

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh said that work is on to find a permanent solution to clear all of the major sewage lines, and that it would be completed within a certain time frame, after touring various parts of the west zone and inspecting clogged sewer lines.

He went to several of the west zone’s neighborhoods a few days ago to find out what issues the locals were having with sewage. Following that, he gave the cops orders to fix the matter right away.

The MC Commissioner expressed his deep worry about the sewage issue in the west zone’s Chheharta district. He claimed to have had extensive discussions with the workers and to have learned that the reason the obstruction was not determined was because all of the sewage pipes are always in use throughout the day. Teams are being formed to operate around the clock.

He claimed that little sucking machines were being used to drain wastewater from the Chheharta Railway Crossing to Subhash Gali.

The locals are totally collaborating as blockages are checked between Chheharta Chowk and India Gate, as well as between Chheharta Chowk and Khandwala Chowk. The primary sucking machines have been switched on throughout the night to clean the West Zone’s main sewage pipes.

According to him, the major sewer clearing work would be completed in a record 45 days, moving from Gumanpura disposal to STP Khapakheri via Bhaini village. The administrators of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board have been requested to operate all STPs continuously.

According to Commissioner Singh, the general people’s impression of police is that they give instructions while seated in their offices and don’t go out into the community to listen to citizens’ concerns about public facilities.

His primary emphasis has been on cleanliness, rubbish collection, and the removal of building and demolition debris that is left on the main highways. He said that since taking office as commissioner, he has made daily trips to all of the major thoroughfares and regions to monitor the status of the job.
